A public appeal was launched in 1999 to get support and funds to
display the wonderful Robert Hay drawings from the British Library.
The library had given photographic copies of a selection of the
drawings, and these needed to be turned into an exhibition that
could be permanently displayed, and a home needed to be found and
made into a proper venue.
Our supporters
and sponsors were kept informed of progress with simple newsletters.
These came out rather irregularly, but were put together as time,
energy permitted and events dictated.
You can
read the history of the project in these newsletters:

In 2007 a new organisation, The Friends of Qurna Discovery, was set up to
support the exhibition centre. The Friends newsletters have a section for the
Qurna History Project.
